Are We Entitled to Make Promises
I made a promise that I will diligently update my blog site for any ideas that may come into my mind. True to the saying, "Promises are made to be broken" I became guilty of this sin. Just after a day of being overly excited I have finally fulfilled my dream of having a blog of my own, I ended up doing my writing tasks first before feeding my blog with its own nutritional words of wisdom.
I had no intention of laying behind my desire to share my words to the world. I just felt too tired to cook words into a delicious cuisine suitable for the palate of my readers, (in case I do have readers already). Shall I call it an excuse? It is an excuse because if I willed myself to work on it then I will have enough energy to create an article that will entice the interest of another. Nevertheless, I decided to put my laptop on a hibernate mode and dozed off.
As a result of this criminal act against the virtue of diligence, I started to ponder if we are entitled to make promises in the first place? Is is one of the illusions man has created to feed his fantasy of superiority? Do we have any capacity of fulfilling a promise?
NO!
Promises are to be done by those who can see the future, which WE cannot do until now. Science and technology has improved over the past decades, but seeing the future is something we are still not capable. We can predict the future but blatantly say that it will 100% happen is a bold illusion. This gives us no reason to make promises. Instead, it is best to say if the future permits then let it be done or better yet if the Lord permits then I will fulfill so and so.
Will I create another post for tomorrow?
I learned my lesson well enough! If the Lord permits then may I have the wisdom to share to you for the morrow.
