Rising from the Ashes
“As I watch the last flame of the burning wood come to its
death, I have come to the realization that the final combustion of oxygen
resulted in the birth of another. It is not the end of the flame, rather a
chance for it to be lit once again. Time is the only prophet who will know when
this will happen, but it will certainly occur.”

Troubles come and go.
Failures and losses arrive.
But, the hero remains standing tall.
I am one and will forever be . . .
Jessica Sanchez has been the modern icon for Filipinos all
over the world. Her loss in the recent American Idol Season 11 has been
contemplated by millions of viewers all over the world. It is an eye-opener to
the fact that many are still lost with the belief that all is fair in this
world, which is a fact I have longed accepted to be mythology masterfully
crafted by the ancients.
Fairness and equality are abstract terms that are
non-existent in this world. They are but fantasies humankind created to suit
his egoistic desire fulfilling his craving for goodness. However, he still
fails to embrace this because in the end, he breaks his own rules of fairness
and equality.
Was there ever a chance for Jessica
Sanchez, to win? She sure did! When he sang the song of Whitney Song, “I
Will Always Love You,” and phenomenally received millions of global followers
in YouTube; it already signaled her triumph. She had already won their support.
But, is it enough to give her the coveted title? There is no chance for this to
ever happen because viewership of the program shows young ladies posted on the
screen on their television with no other thing in mind but to waste it in
reality shows like this. What else would you expect?
