Going 30 Undisturbed
I recalled stumbling upon a Taiwanese Novel called "In Time With You."
Synopsis:
"On her 30th birthday, Cheng You Qing received an email on "the symptoms of premature aging" from Li Da Ren, her best friend of 14 years. Unable to accept that Li Da Ren is like a fine wine that will get better with age and she is like a grape that will dry into a raisin as years go by, she made a bet with Li to see who will get married first before they turn 35. As she looked around for a potential husband, she discovered that she was surrounded by unacceptable candidates, like gay assistant or cheating ex-boyfriend. The only man who could love her despite her ill temper and stubbornness is her best friend. The only problem was that they both swore that they were not or will ever be romantically attracted to each other. "

I must admit, I am already a fan of Korean Novelas, particularly that of Sassy Girl Chun Hyang; but this one was more striking. Maybe because I am soon to reach the age of 30 myself. I guess Cheng You Qing and I shared a lot of similarities. That is the reason why I could relate to her personality. ( I just hope I could be as pretty as she is ... :) :) :) )
Is Li Da Ren for real?
Hmm...
I believe he existed once, but I was too pre-occupied with my own selfishness that I failed to notice his existence. It worked better for him. I know he is happy with his beloved.
Where does it put me?
It places me in a position where I am in doubt if love is meant for a few people... I would love to call them special, but I have also seen seemingly perfect couples break in the end. They started with sweet promises but ended up tearing each other's heart. These are one of the saddest things I do not wish to see and I do not want to experience.
Love is for the Strong
This is one of my realizations. Love is meant for those who are strong enough to bear all the pains and hardships. Love is meant for those who are willing to sacrifice their pride. Love is allowing someone to bring as much pain in your heart. Love is for the martyrs and heroes. Love is for the selfless.
That kind of love is not something I am willing to embrace.
I am selfish. If it can't have everything then I rather not have it. I want to be the center of the universe in his eyes and unless he allows this then I would only fade away into my own universe. That is Li Da Ren for Cheng Yu Quing and unless a patient be as patient as Li Da Ren, then I am already accepting my fate to be Miss Old Diary instead.
Will it be sad life?
I don't think so! I am pretty much occupied with all of my business. A 24 hour clock period is not even enough for me to handle all of my obligations. Furthermore, my heart is filled with different individuals which needs assistance.
