An Ode To Gerald

Shall I cry a tear because you left

Shall I be sad that you bid goodbye

Shall I look down and feel sad

I guess not, it will make you mad

Shall I smile then as I look above

Shall I sing a song remembering love

Shall I laugh at images you left behind

Oh I hope you will not mind

Shall I stay for hours

Shall I embrace friends

Shall I show my loneliness

Or shall I leave a gem of remembrance

I am not very good with words

I am not very good with emotions

I am not very good with sentiments

I am only good at cherishing

I am only good at remembering

I am only good at reminiscing

I am only good at thanksgiving

   because I have been given an opportunity

   to have that time in my life

   when I listened to your laugh

   when I listened to your tales

   when I saw your eyes glisten with delight

   when I sawy your eyes sadden with frustration

I will not shed a tear

I will try my best, because it wouldn't fit

There is nothing to cry for because you are free

There is nothing to be sad because you have your smiles
