Young Girls' Guide on Making the Most of Her Unruly Hair
Sometimes, our hair only wants to rebel against us. You may
find that you've awoken in the morning to a head of bed hair, but don't have
the time necessary to style it before dashing off to school, work, or a get-together
with your best buds.
Growing up with a cyclone of very curly hair, I know what
it's like to have to spend time taming the beast. When you're desperate for a
quick, yet efficient look, try one of the styles below to get your day off to a
good start! You can also take a look at video tutorials to glean the proper
technique, and you'll be able to jet out the door in a jiffy with a do that
rocks as much as you.
Waterfall braid
A braid is a great way to keep wild hair on lockdown, and the waterfall braid is an especially unique and beautiful option for your unruly locks, and it involves braiding the hair loosely in a horizontal line near the top of the head. It's essentially a French braid, but the ends of each strand are left to dangle, and when done properly, it will look like your hair is cascading down with the ease and flurry of running water.
Ballerina bun
For a less fussy style, just pool your hair into a cute bun. First, tie the hair back up high with an elastic band. Then you gently wrap your ponytail around the base of the elastic to create this pristine look. Secure it with bobby pins.
Accessorize
If you have short hair, consider investing in some funky headbands and ribbons. A strategically placed headband can make your look go from glum to glam in just seconds.
Side ponytail
This style is making a comeback, but it's still unique enough to set you apart from the crowd. Just pull your hair into either a high or low ponytail and secure with elastic. You'll look fun, flirty, and the best part is it only took a minute.
If you have curly hair, don't worry about your tendrils getting frizzy, it's perfectly natural for your hair to be a little fluffy, but when you want to tame it quickly, just wash it and brush it out with conditioner. Leave a small amount of conditioner in your hair to offset any frizz as it dries, your curls will be much more lustrous and defined, and you won't have to worry about hiding a lion's mane later.
